Trash, import & export

Blocks you delete move to the collection's Trash for 14 days before being removed permanently. You can also import browser bookmarks as an HTML file, or paste links directly into any collection.

Where​

  • Trash: inside a collection → Trash (in the collection toolbar).
  • Add a link: inside a collection → paste a URL in the Paste link field → Add.
  • Import bookmarks: inside a collection → Import bookmarks.

How​

Restore or permanently delete a block​

  1. Inside a collection, click Trash. The trash panel opens showing all deleted blocks.
  2. Find the block you want.
    • Click Restore to return it to its original location in the collection.
    • Click Delete permanently to remove it immediately and for good.

Import browser bookmarks​

  1. Export your bookmarks from the browser as an HTML file.
    • Chrome: Bookmark manager → 3-dot menu → Export bookmarks
    • Safari: File → Export bookmarks
    • Firefox: Bookmarks → Show all bookmarks → Import and Backup → Export to HTML
    • Edge: Favorites → Manage favorites → Export
  2. Inside a collection, click Import bookmarks. The Import bookmarks dialog opens.
  3. Click Select file and choose the exported HTML file. Collec shows a preview with the folder structure and link count.
  4. Click Import N to add all bookmarks as link blocks.
  1. Inside a collection, paste a URL in the Paste link field and click Add. Collec fetches the page title and metadata automatically.

Limits​

  • Deleted blocks are permanently removed 14 days after deletion. This is automatic and cannot be changed.
  • Restoring a block puts it back in its original folder inside the collection.
  • Bookmark files with more than 500 links take noticeably longer to save.

Not available yet​

  • Exporting a collection or workspace. Collection export is restricted to team administrators; workspace export has a button in Settings → General but is not yet functional.
  • Importing from a Packs file or the Store.
