Sharing & permissions

Permissions in Collec follow the collection boundary, with per-block sharing on top for finer control.

Collection visibility​

  • Private — only you can see the collection and its blocks.
  • Team — only selected workspace members can see it.
  • Whole workspace — all members of the workspace can see it.

Block sharing​

Individual blocks — for example a note you want one person to review — can be shared directly by inviting people by email:

  • View — the invitee can read the block.
  • Edit — the invitee can also change its content.

Invitees need a Collec account. Sharing a block gives access to that block only, not the collection around it. The person who can manage the collection controls sharing; recipients cannot re-share.

The share dialog gives you the block's app link. The link itself grants nothing — access is controlled by the permissions above, so only people you have invited (or workspace members, for workspace-visible collections) can open it.
