Automatic organization

Automatic tagging, categories, and relations described on this page are not available yet. Today you organize with collections and folders, or ask an AI assistant connected over MCP to reorganize a collection for you.

Manual filing does not survive real usage. Collec organizes what you save automatically, so your library stays useful without you maintaining it.

What happens when you save​

When a block enters a collection, Collec analyzes it and generates:

  • Tags — topical labels extracted from the content.
  • Categories — broader grouping used across the workspace.
  • Relations — connections to similar items you have already saved.

Why it matters​

The goal is that anything you saved months ago is still findable — by search, by tag, or by showing up next to related items — without you ever having filed it.

Automatic analysis uses AI and consumes credits from your workspace pool.
